Re: so i hear...LS2+colorado...very possible
I don't mind a sport model with the LS2.
But DAMMIT GM, there are a lot of people taht want a Smaller sized truck (Colorado), but want some power to do something with it (Tow, Haul, 4x4, whatever)... Again, the LS2 is cool and for a sport truck would be awesome, But I would be perfectly happy with a 300hp 5.3L or 250-275hp 4.8L. I bet with DoD and the smaller truck would get decent gas mileage (wouldn't be suprised if it's better then the I5 to be honest...)

Thats less than the number of LS1's that were used in the y-body/f-body in a year, and FAR less than the number of LT1's used in the f/y/b-body.

Too bad the Colorado/Canyon has only needed this engine since the trucks debuted. I5 is pathetic for a midsize, unless you like reving the hell out of an engine so the truck can get out of its own way. Every person I know that decided to pass on a Colorado gave me the biggest reason why was the limited engine options. No V8 offered, and the I5 didnt fit their needs.

You don't need to rev the hell out of the I5, at least no more than you do a 5.3L in a Silverado. Gearing has a lot to do with that. I5 has a pretty good torque curve and it is plenty of power for most Colorados (remember before the Colorado NO ONE had over 220HP out of a V6 pickup) I think it is more of an image thing, but for towing it would be nice to have a 4.8L V8. Not everyone that tows wants a giant truck. It would be nice to have a V8 and 6,000+lbs. of towing out of something the size of a Colorado.

Have the tires feel the wheel wells like this

That thing would be Perfect!
ImportedRoomate, that truck has a mean stance. Looks good!
