I don't mind a sport model with the LS2.

But DAMMIT GM, there are a lot of people taht want a Smaller sized truck (Colorado), but want some power to do something with it (Tow, Haul, 4x4, whatever)... Again, the LS2 is cool and for a sport truck would be awesome, But I would be perfectly happy with a 300hp 5.3L or 250-275hp 4.8L. I bet with DoD and the smaller truck would get decent gas mileage (wouldn't be suprised if it's better then the I5 to be honest...)

Thats less than the number of LS1's that were used in the y-body/f-body in a year, and FAR less than the number of LT1's used in the f/y/b-body.
yeah, those numbers are largely due to the absense of f-bodies.

There can never be too many LS2 powered cars for sale as far as I'm concerned

Too bad the Colorado/Canyon has only needed this engine since the trucks debuted. I5 is pathetic for a midsize, unless you like reving the hell out of an engine so the truck can get out of its own way. Every person I know that decided to pass on a Colorado gave me the biggest reason why was the limited engine options. No V8 offered, and the I5 didnt fit their needs.

You don't need to rev the hell out of the I5, at least no more than you do a 5.3L in a Silverado. Gearing has a lot to do with that. I5 has a pretty good torque curve and it is plenty of power for most Colorados (remember before the Colorado NO ONE had over 220HP out of a V6 pickup) I think it is more of an image thing, but for towing it would be nice to have a 4.8L V8. Not everyone that tows wants a giant truck. It would be nice to have a V8 and 6,000+lbs. of towing out of something the size of a Colorado.

4.8L would be sweet in the Colorado.

Brandon go drive one and tell me it doesn't make power accross the revs. The GMT355s are also not midsize they are compacts. Compare one to a Dakota or Tacoma in person and you can see it for yourself.

This is their chance....This new gmc truck looks stunning. Red, you need to drop in a high tq high hp engine and make two models out of it. One, lowered with ground effects and nice wheels and lower the truck and such (like the colorado ss truck concept), and have a second, model, based on the same engine, except with big mudding tires, like what the Rubicon has except bigger.
And don't change the suspension height...allow the big mudding tires to fill the wheel wells. Don't raise the truck or it will look like a toy truck (like those lifted mid 1990's tocoma trucks)...Think of it more as a rally-truck...

Have the tires feel the wheel wells like this

That thing would be Perfect!

ImportedRoomate, that truck has a mean stance. Looks good!
