So I go to the Washington Aut show today...

...and the SS concept was there. How many years has it been there? I know at least 2, I think 3. Why keep showing an old concept?

To show styling cues chevy has up it's sleve? Does someone really think that concept is that cool?

My guess is that it's Chevy/GM keeping in people's mind the heritege of the SS (the display has a bunch of screens showing SS models over time racing around) and that there is something coming down the road to this effect.

I can't think of any other concept I've seen there for more then one year.....why?

The Pontiac Solstice display was stuffed into the back corner of the Pontiac area. Noone even looked at it..

Pontiac had 2 2005 GTo's there , one with the hood scoops, one without.. No pricing information was available for these 2 cars, no sticker.

Cadillac was the only GM division with people actually interested in the cars..

I too noticed they have been publicizing the SS Concept a lot since day one...

Its still on their web site under future concepts for christs sake.

Even waaay back then it had the 6L in it. Before the term "LS2" was even coined(publicly anyways)

I had someone close to GM(dont remember who) say the front is similar to what the RWD V8 coupe would look like.

Looks awefully a lot like the Camaro to me:

I could handle something like that front as the new Camaro....(actually, I think the front it kick-azz!)just not the rest of the car...

http://www.car-data.com/xpage.previe...odel=ssconcept

The SS concept is a nice idea, but there are so many other cars that fill the gap for four seat family cars with lots of interior room.

The Camaro is going to have to either have a tiny trunk and lots of rear leg room, or a nice size trunk with little rear leg room to remain a coupe, unless they extended the wheelbase and made little doors behind the front doors like on the Mazda RX8.

Although if it had a tiny trunk then it probably wouldnt be a hatchback and would have to be super sleek to have a good coefficient of drag. But I like the notchback look. I'd love to see I two door concept of the SS thats less "bulgy" looking...

Decisions, decisions.....

Yeah, the front end I could deal with, but not the rest of the car.

And yes I was dissapointed to see the Solstice in the corner.

And GOOD LORD was that a Ford show or what? How many Mustangs were there? There must have been 20 restored/well kept old mustangs there, and then the new stangs right when you walk down the stairs to the second floor.

On the other hand Chevy back in the back corner on the top floor....

Buick had it the worst of GM.. They had 4 Lacrosses on the floor and yet another spinning around on display.. It was a ghosttown there. No one even looked at that car. I had to wait in line to sit in most of the cars I looked at...
