Re: smart cars

Link? More info?

The "Smart" brand is already here in a limited degree. Not sure if that's what you're talking about though.

Saw one a few months ago around here in fact.

Re: smart cars

they're pretty rampid in Canada. Thing is they're diesel, so they get good fuel economy, but comparable to a diesel Golf, so what's the point?
Also they're almost 20 grand for such a small little thing.

Re: smart cars

If they are as cheap here as they are in europe, I might have to consider one.
I did a conversion and got $14k for the smart roadster coupe.
I could turn that into a hotrod real fast. Solstice eater.

Oh, never mind. I did the euro conversion and got it to be $8k.
$20k for the egg one? No thank-you. I read it as $14k for the good looking slow roadster. I'm guessing that would be marked up to $25k. :blah:

Re: smart cars

Most people drive to work by themselves. With 60mpg out of the 3cyl. diesel I'd drive one for a commuter car. At about 8 feet long I can fit 2 in my one car garage Heck, I can just park one in my storage shed.

Re: smart cars

In Canada, for $4000 less, you could by a Cobalt. Heck, once you factor in taxes, you'll save even more than $4000, and you'll have a real car, not a death-box glorified golf cart. That $4000+ will offset the lost savings in fuel mileage for years, and again, you'll have the priviledge of driving a real car.
