I know alot of you guys don't like this car....but I'd bet in densely populated urban centers like here in Chicago...these things will take off.

We had a program here (SF Bay Area) where we were practically giving away similarly styled electric vehicles for use by the public in an urban setting.

We had to dump the program because nobody was using them.

The only place that someone would buy such a hideous vehicle is Europe!

wouldn't want to be hit by a speeding taxi cab or a garbage truck in the city...

It only has room for two people and no luggage space?

I dunno about you but if i lived in a city, having a small utilitarian car would be nice, but I would at least want to be able to haul 4 or 5 people and some of their junk around, like in a small hatchback... else just take public transportation.

Heh, for some reason, i had this image of two very large people carmmed in that thing...

I was over at the Frankfurt Int Airport last week, I saw a Smart Sports car?!?! Really.. it was super small... Drum rear brakes I believe... I don't know what they called it, or what was in it... but looked kinda like a go kart with a body and two seats. Maybe if I get time I'll go get a picture.

Oh BTW.... I did actually see one on the Autobahn finally.... that thing can't be safe at that speed... I didn't see it long though since I was going 115mph... and he was doing maybe 80.

I didn't see it in the article, but believe it or not, Swatch was teamed up with Mercedes back when they thought that thing up.

I was just over in Amsterdam and Paris for a couple of weeks, and I saw a lot of those things on the road.

Looks like a death trap to me, it's like riding in a phone booth, What happens when you get hit by a Suburban.

After the accident the whole car can conveiniently be taken away in a small cardboard box.

LOL transam8, i can see it now, "Fast and the Furious 5: Revolution of the Small Cars" featuring Smarts with body kits taking on turbocharged Aveos and Insights, complete with neon lights and nitrous bottles bigger than the cars themselves

Seriously though, you get hit in that thing and you're toast. Perfect car for the people who just want a point A to point B type of car though.
