Quite honestly, on real-world roads, this is one of the best-handling vehicles I've ever driven. Is there a deep pothole on the outside of the turn, or maybe some gravel that's been dragged from the shoulder onto the pavement? No worries - just keep on the throttle and point the wheel where you want to go. Sure, on a billard-smooth racetrack, a bit stiffer suspension might help, but it is absolutely dead-nuts perfect for the roads we have here in the Rust Belt.

Don't get me wrong, it handles well. Just not like a sporty car, afterall it's a 4,800 lbs truck. The body lean did freak my out alittle though....it feels sort of 'tippy', but it goes where you point it, that's for sure. My reference point however, is my IROC-Z and my SVT Contour. It handles like an S2000 compared to my larger Durango though.

I've driven acouple of AWD TB SS's, not a RWD one though. I wonder what the difference in driving experience is?

I'm not sure, but even without the benefit of driving the RWD model, I'm convinced that the AWD drivetrain is my choice for anything but a dragstrip queen. The ability to put down all 395 HP at the time and place of my choosing is worth the weight and cost penalty.

Now, if GM could just do something about the fuel economy. I wonder if the L92 would help that problem.

A 6L80, I think would make such a big difference. I don't have the ratios at my fingertips, but I believe you'd get the same torque multiplication with around a 3.23 axle ratio as you would with the current 4.10.

It probably wouldn't hurt, that's for sure - the 30" tall tires knock down the effective gearing a bit, but it's still spinning right around 2700 RPM at 80 MPH.

I will admit that part of the economy problem has to do with the vehicle's exhaust tuning - it sounds so good at WOT that it's nearly impossible to stay off the loud pedal
