should gm do a bmwfilms thing

I started watching bmw films again and i really think that GM should do something like them. It could be across the whole brand line up. I know that they did work for bmw as i know someone who saw "Star" the one with Modanna and the M5, he liked it so much he went out and bought an M5. GM, i think, tried to do something like this with the "secrets of a stuntman" infomercial but that turned out to be too much of an advertisement rather than a high action short film centered around the car. (with no mention of the type of car as well)

what do u think should GM do something like it

BMW films are awesome.

They have a neat little plot and great driving scenes.

I think most were done by different directors and have a noticable different feel to them.

A unique way to advertise your product.
GM should make "Camaro films" for 07. Put them out 6 months before launch to build up anniciptation. People would go nuts

I don't think they should because everyone would think "Hey, they copied BMW - real original GM." This would reinforce the idea that BMW is ahead of GM - not what we'd want to suggest.

They should bring back Camaro as the bang for the buck champ it was and advertise it as such. Not all the comercials should be "look at this badass car" because they need to sell to lots of people - non enthusiasts even. The bang for the buck is a nice angle. They could easily make this witty or funny.

You do have a point WERM but firstly someone would have to know about BMW films.

Its possible for someone not to know and then see the "Camaro" films. Its also possible they would know about the BMW films and see the Camaro versions. They might think they are following BMW.

That could be good though, "Hey GM is gonna be like BMW" A positive association. BMW is probably the all around sportiest car maker on the planet. All there cars have manual transmissions and often thought of as the sportiest car in theri segments.

But some could view it as bad, like you mentioned. Still it would be hard to see how it could toatally bomb on them.

A cool car vid is still cool.

thats pretty much the only thing that i am a little bit worried about. If people dont look at it like that i think that GM doing this could be very beneficial
