Should GM bring back the "Stingray" name on the C6?

I was thinking the same thing!
Well, Chevy should already have a bigger share of the DENVER market since they now offer both the Colorado and the Avalanche !!!

How about ZR6
Z - Because all the other recent special Vettes used it.
R - To embrace its racing heritage.
6 - Because its a C6.
It also suggests a step (or two) above "Z06" and "ZR1".

I wonder if they'd consider it too confusing, though, with ZR1 and Z06 already existing... when someone said "ZR6" they might say "ZR1? Z06?"

But, anyway... I like that idea!

Corvette ZR6

The only odd thing is that I pulled that out of my butt when I started typing, with no previous thought what-so-ever. How much is GM paying their product "naming" consultants?
I like ZR1 myself. GM always resuses names and RPOs.
ZR1s were the fastest of the C4's--so there is some consistency.
Hate Stingray!!! boo! Alot of those ugly C3 Vettes from the 70's had Stringray attached to it and it did not mean a damn thing.

Well, if we're going to split hairs....
From the literature that I've read, they've been used with and without the "-" before the number. I think the hood badging used the dash, but the literature didn't.
Z28Wilson: You're correct, LS1 is not a reissue. ZR-1, LS2, LS4, LS5, LS6, LS7 would be though. (if GM uses them again)
jg95z28: I would imagine that if GM does use the ZL1 designation in a production car they'd rename the crate engine to distinguish the two. I really think GM has been itching to use the ZL1 name on something though.

Yeah I remember the ZR2... maybe we're just imagining it.
I still think Chevrolet Corvette ZR6 sounds cool.
Anything but ZL1. The car doesn't deserve it unless it has an aluminum big block.
