Should GM bring back the "Stingray" name on the C6?

Do you think Gm should replace the Z06 designation with "Stingray" or maybe name their $100,000 Super-Vette the "Stingray"?

Should the "Grandsport" be brought back as well?

Not that Stingray brings back bad connotations of the past, but I think they should leave certain names dead. For example “the Judge” name on the GTO.

I wouldn’t mind “Grand sport”, but I think it would be cool if they came up with a totally brand new name for this new Super Vette. It will be the best Corvette ever made, I think it deserves a new name.

I think Stingray sohuld be left in the past.

I think it's a cool name, but I also think that too many names coming back take away from some things in the past that they represent...

Add to that "Stingray" was every Corvette from 1963-1967 (Sting Ray) and 1969 to 1976 (Stingray)...

I didn't really note anything special about the car...

Stingray should remain dead, but I do like ZL1. Of course, I kinda like "Blue Devil"..................but that will never make it.

It's logical that ZL1 designation could be the successor to the ZR1 but I think an actual name like "Grandsport" or "Stingray" would be a cool change.

Im surprised GM never brought out a limited edition Grandsport model on the current C5 like they did on the C4. Maybe GM is holding back the GS name for the production Super-Vette version of the C6.

say it with me..

I got a 500 HP Viper

I got a 500 HP Ford GT

I GOT A 600 HP STINGRAY CORVETTE

says more than just ZL1..though its something that could be on the cowl...and better than just saying ZL1...
ZL1 soulds close to ZR1 to me..AWSOME cars but something like a Stingray name is awsome
Stingray sounds good

imo, i htink the "super vette" should be called ZL1, just because that was like an awesome vette in and of itself, and i just don't know if grand sport or stingray is worthy enough to be on a 600+ hp beast
and, z06 works fine for me, don't change that

Only if they bring back a OHC V8 motor to put in the car.

I also think the stingray name should be left dead. The ZL1 name sounds a lot more modern and fits the car better.

ZL1 actually goes back to the 60's and while Stingray says "old school" there have been more recent Stingray's than ZL1's. ZL1's were also aluminum big blocks, so unless GM is dropping in the modern day equivalent of an aluminum rat motor (the current "reissued" ZL1 displaces 454 c.i.) then ZL1 should not be used on an LSx based C6, inspite of how "cool" it sounds.

Keep both names in the past where they belong.

I had though of that idea especialy with the C3-C4ish styling of the rear. But GMs alerady got a couple of big names coiming back at this time. They dont need to add to the list.

I think ZR1 would be a better name than ZL1, ZL1 would be better name for a 7.0L or Big Block Vette.

I wouldn't be against a new name like ZT1 (the T is for turbo )

or maybe another ZR (ZR3, ZR7, or ZR8?)
