See. Cool cars increase your market share.

It seems cool cars are better at gaining market share than HUGE incentives.

You bring up a great point at a great time buddy-ro.
I know Ford is scheduled to roll out 65 new designs in the next 5 years, and GM is slated to do about the same - very aggressive revamping excersize to say the least. I sure do hope that some of these 65 offerings have some spirit, soul, and and that certain "something" in them that will set them apart from the common appliance, and make them more appealing to the average buyer than the imports.

I'd also love to see some passionate advertising for the domestics, touting that our quality is at least on-par with the average import car. With all the new models rolling out, what better time to eradicate the old "low-quality" stigma and sorry baggage that domestics still seem to carry (often undeservedly).

Yes, and Detroit, "cool" does NOT mean uglo-hip like the new Scions and Elements.

Just take the Mustang, or the Camaro, put a 200-250HP V6 in it, strip it down to the basics, and sell it for $14,995. Or price it at $1 more than a Scion or Element and ask people if they would pay $1 more for it.

Or do it with the Solstice. Or whatever--just think "cool," not "trendy."
