Seat Material Preference

Back to the packaging question ...and I've never done a poll before

Curious to know if it's just me that doesn't want slippery, cold in the winter ...until the heaters catch up, hot and sticky in the summer, especially irritating with shorts on leather in my next vehicle.

Before I choose...what's the difference between base and premium cloth? I assume the current cloth used could be described as base....examples??

There is a new material starting to come about that could be a good option if done right. Microfiber. It has the feel of suede and is very easy to clean. I haven't seen it in person in an auto environment, but I have seen couches that are VERY comfy. It can also be dyed in any color. What do you think of that.

p.s. There is some potential for ricer cracks here, and I am aware...

Yes, current would be base.

Not having seen our sat in one I may be way off base here ... but somthing along the line of what is advertised for the Imprezza WRS Sti is what I'm thinking in terms of premium.

My assumption is that those that want premium cloth would also want improved lateral support.

If it's anything like a microfibre towel it'd be great. Sticks like Velcro. Wouldn't need a harness

Although my Z28 has cloth, I prefer leather.

Cloth for me please. I'd even prefer the base to leather. More comfy IMO. I'm sure both would be offered though. I just hope the leather isn't anything like what they offered on the F-car.

As far as premium goes...It would have to make a large enough difference in comfort over the current cloth and it shouldn't add much to the cost of the car....Then I'd be on board!

Lightbulb Cloth, please !

Not (as) hot in the summer, not cold in the winter, easier to take care of, and it doesn't let you slip & slide like leather.

I do prefer the door panel inserts that come w/ the leather option, however.

My .02.

Look no further than the IS300's suede-like seating, or Z3 roadster's cloth for what I think this car needs.

My Best Car buddy cant even sit in a car without leather. Every car he buys has to have it. I agree it looks sexier but I'm ganna have to go with premium cloth. Always had cloth in my car and I like it. Pretty much what NEWBIE T/A said. And I've also noticed leather seems to rip and wear more. Unless I'm in a Vette or a Lambo I don’t see why sports cars need leather. Maybe in my future truck though..........

I'd be for Leather if it were better than what's in my Z right now. It is hot in summer, cold and slippery in winter, and cracks way too easy. I use leather conditioner, but only helps so much. I'd much rather see some form of microfiber that is also stain repelling, like those Dockers pants with stain guard. Microfiber also feels awesome... I've got a shirt made of that stuff and my g/f loves to touch it.

Assuming this is for a daily-driver, I gotta pick leather. While certain cloth materials can help with support during hard driving, I have yet to experience any that is as easy to clean and as durable as high-quality leather.

Yeah, GM really needs to put some effort into it's interior materials. I always thought the the leather in Camaros looked incredibly cheap...more like low grade vinyl. For some reason the leather in Firebirds always looked better to me. Am I dreaming...or has anyone else ever noticed that?

Personally, I'd take leather...if it were a higher grade than previously offered...but I am open to new and higher quality seating surfaces if they were available.
