Saw a new 350 Z convertible today
ill say that i definatly still like the coupe a lot better. also from the back it looks identical to a lexus sc 430. I honestly was thinking, its a lexus sc430, but it had a 350Z front...wtf
i looked at it in wonder for awhile until i got right up next to it. and saw the nissan symbols. It did look a little better in person, but still weird as hell IMO.

It's one of those cars that don't look good as convertibles. Beetle, Lexus...
On the opposite side, BMW 3-series look very good as convertibles, so does Corvette. They hide their cloth roof, and the car looks nicely proportional.

When I first saw the new 350Z, I thought it looked too short ... but it's growing on me. I prefer the overall profile of G35 Coupe, it looks more proportional to me for some reason.
I don't know about you guys, but to me looking like the Lexus coupe would not be a good thing ... Toyota apparently did the same rear treatment to the Solara. What is going on with these designers? BMW with the 7, now Toyota? These cars look great from just about every other angle ...
Well at least designers are taking chances so we don't have to look at emblems to distinguish one car from another.
