Sat in the redesigned CTS-V yesterday!

The body was still in camo, but it wasn't the checkerboard paint camo we've seen in several spy shots. It was a black car with traditional camo draped on the front and rear.

Walking up to it, the brakes are what clued me in to what it was.

This car is going to be HOT. The interior looks like it will be outstanding, absolutely destroying the current CTS interior, and probably nicer imo than the current STS interior. It should have nothing to apologize for when it comes out.

Luckily, the hood was also popped.

As far as I'm concerned, it shall fear no M3 nor IS500 (if that car comes to be).

Will it fear an M5?

Not based on what I saw. I've not been in the current 5 series / M5 interior lately, so I don't know from a lux point of view (but I don't think the V is going to jump from $50k to $90k in its redesign, so that must be kept in mind).

From a performance standpoint...What M5?

Actually, I should say that one of the guys I talked to said he was not sure if the engine I saw was the final engine that would be used in the V.

Let's just say I'm very encouraged.

Such a tease So do you think the Vette team will be mad about the engine choice for the CTS-V?

I am now shutting up, before the black Suburbans start searching.

I'm visiting MPG this week, by the way, which is how I was able to slide into the seat of the V.

I'm glad to be back in Indy where my folks are, but in terms of work geographic location, I sure do miss being in Milford.

GMT900s everywhere, new Malibus, CTS, etc...

Sounds to me like it was an LS7.

So are you doing a little 'open' road testing on what you have been working on in Indy?

Actually, I've been driving a truck like this all week:

Except it is maroon with a fancier, stainless (?) unpainted dump bed.

Something in the neighborhood of 1600 lb-ft of turbocharged I6 fury.

But I'd rather have been driving the CTS-V

I'll hold me breath that this product actually lives up to GM's hype machine.
