Can't say that I'm necessarilly into trucks or Toyotas....but this one was very cool in person. No price announced, but the impression is that it will be very affordable.
Wonder how the Colorado ZQ8 will compare?

I personally don't like the front end, it's too big and boxy("flying brick"), especially for a "Sport Truck"...the scoop looks interesting but in a useless location, but the color & body treatment looks good and the performance don't sound bad...tho a little underpowered for its competition.
One thing, if these Trucks are getting 300+Hp, then a new Camaro should get well beyond that, say 400..just to keep it interesting.

Just guessing on price....but I don't think you'll get either one of those for UNDER $25K.
Maybe even less....Toyota intends this to be an entry level product. I think comparing it to a Colorado ZQ8, would be a more fair comparison.

Looks to me like GM could really use a turbo I5 or a slightly warmed-over N/A I6 in their small-truck lineup, if the competition is going to be offering 240 HP standard and 300 HP with a dealer-installed blower.
The pieces are in place for GM to hit a home run - let's see if they can make it happen.

Holy Crap!
GM better get on the wagon!
That Toy even comes with a nice 6speed.
Stupid Canyon/Colorado is still stuck with the lowly 5.......
What the hell are they waiting for?
I know it's cool to arive fashionably late but c'mon........fashion's going to change by the time they decide what to put on.

Again, nothing official about cost, but one press release says that Toyota wants to position the X-Runner to appeal to the Scion crowd. That would put it at WELL BELOW $20,000. Is it possible to get all that stuff for that kind of money??
Anyway, if it costs somewhere in that ballpark...I can't help but think, it'll be very popular.

I think the ZQ8 looks a lot better, it would be nice to see chevy throw a 300HP Gen IV 4.8L V8 in there.

That will certainly be interesting to see. While the S10 Xtreme seemed to be a bit unappreciated (probably because of the age of its underpinnings), it was a pretty capable performer if we're talking anything but straight-line acceleration.

I always found the Xtreme package alittle difficult to look at. I always prefered the S10 ZQ8 ( "Xtreme without the plastic"), and Sonoma ZQ8.
I think the ZQ8's are simply the neatest little trucks to come out of GM in a long time.
This may sound crazy....but every now and then, I toy with the idea of finding a used one to go autocrossing with.

It'd be interesting to see if tossing-in the ZR2 8.5" rear end and its torque arm would be of benefit in putting down the power on corner exits.

I just don't think 220hp from the I-5 is going to cut it. I really hope they have some V6 or even small V8 announcements lined up over the next few years for the Colorado/Canyon, otherwise it will be woefully underpowered vs. the competition in a couple of years.
