I actually think the Ridgeline is a good choice for MT's TOTY because it's a very innovative concept - the most innovative to be released in this past year.

But I also think that their COTY choice (the civic) was a bad one. The new Z06 is extremely ground-breaking IMO - leads almost every car made to date in performance on the race track yet costs less than almost every last one of them - often times a small fraction of the price of the others.

Hands-down winner of the COTY award IMO. R&T made the right choice here.

innovative, but not it a good way. (FWD based driver train, unibody minivan platform) Every thing else it has the Avalance has plus a midgate. 2007 Avalanche will also get better milage with a V8

I was almost surprised (yet I'm glad) to see that 3 of 12 cars are GM's. Most mags nowadays seem to automatically lean towards imports no matter what. Also, 2 being from Dodge isn't bad. But where was Ford on that list??

The Z06 is definitely a very deserving car. Considering it's a factory produced car that comes with a warranty, yet out-performs ~99% of the cars on the road, how can you complain with that package?!

05 has been a good year for GM in the show room and a bad year in the board room.

How could anybody argue with winner of 2006 COTY? Z06 beats the old 'King' Viper. It also trounces the GT when it comes to value. A Porsche or Ferrari also don't look so good at double the Z06's price.

Coty 2006 is the Z06... got a great ring to it...
