From GM Fastlane blog site-Rick Wagoner will be a guest on Face the Nation Sunday am on CBS. I wonder if Pt Barnum (BM) will be watching.

Makes no difference if he is or isn't.

Unless Rick publically kisses BM's butt, and begs to implement that half baked and never to be improved 7, 12, 30, or whatever point plan BM has been hawking, he's going to continue his pathetic quest to bring Wagoner down, bash GM's Board of directors as Wagoner's flunkies, and continue to tout that Buick doesn't need new product, just better perks for sales persons.

Just thinking about that ***** gets me pissed.

He now is talking smack about getting Rick arrested and fired in Willmington. Says he has the proof too.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when they drag him out kicking and screaming like a 2 year old.

Re: Rick Wagoner on Face the Nation Sunday AM

you know, it's shameful the way he carries on (BM that is...)

Anyone within the industry that has any sort of experience -- at least to my knowledge-- has told him that his plan will not work for any number of reasons....one being that one of his points is illegal in certain states (but of course, he ignores facts such as that.....) further, his assertion that it would cost GM nothing to implement is simply fantasy.

What I want to know is WHO would he get to run GM? I don't care how smart the man or woman is -- unless he or she's been involved in GM's business for quite some time, they would have to spend a LOT of time learning the ropes........and I don't think we have that kind of time.

Yes......it's scary as hell, but constantly belittling and bashing Wagoner is NOT the answer........and some of his posts are just completely tasteless and without merit.

Perhaps I need to post a public note to him.......??? (BM that is......)

BM has a right to his opinion. There's a numerical equation about opinions out there, and what they are worth...

He knows how to sell Buicks in "Buickville". He has an understanding on what it takes to close the maximum retiree, employee, or supplier priced customer.

I don't believe, in my opinion, he has a grip on the other 49 states outside Michigan.

Those that think as he does are full of... themselves.

I would not. Knowing him, he'd write a letter to be published in the NY times and conveniently misquote you.

Everyone on this site pretty much ignores him now (after we realized that arguing with him was pointless). How are the other boards reacting to him?

You're right.

Saw Rick on FTN today. Answered some very direct questions, gave the UAW ALOT of credit in understanding the problems GM faces. Was about as informative as can be expected in a very short segment.

Although he was polite, he gave a less than ringing endorsement of Steve Miller at Delphi. Said something to the effect that it would be very bad if the Leaders of all 3 sides (GM, the UAW, and Delphi) couldn't reach an agreement that would fix the problem.

Since he wasn't talking about GM, and he gave the UAW praise more than a couple of times, there's no doubt who he was directing that comment to.
