If I had 2 minutes with Lori Queen, I wouldn't be talking about CR. I'd ask her why is it that she feels that Americans wouldn't buy smaller, premium, RWD cars - eventhough the US is BMW's largest 3 series market.

Why, huh?

did you get permission to post her business email address on a public message board? You might want to rethink that idea...

I didn't say this before, but posting a company e-mail address is a very, very, EXTREMELY bad idea!

These e-mail accounts are for OFFICIAL BUSINESS, and clogging it with hundreds of frivilous letters is going to keep regular business correspondance from getting through.

Additionally, just about any crackpot is going to think this gives them a direct line to voice their personal preference in some car or idea for a car.

Most everyone here can grasp the concept of restraint and if told, will refrain from using these adresses. But just go over to the lounge, and you'll see posting an official e-mail address is akin to throwing a loaded Uzi into a cage of hyperactive chimpanzees. Add the fact that anyone can come to this site, and you get the picture.

There was a similar situation not long ago where someone posted a GM official's e-mail address. That was very bad news.

I'd ask that all reference to GM's official addresses be deleted, and if you REALLY want to voice support for Lori Queen's comments, sending her an e-mail is going to be as helpful as pumping too much air in a tire. It won't take much to do more damage than good.

Instead, send your support e-mails to GM's public relations site. This is compliled and will be far more helpful in measuring public sentiment to her comments and to Consumer Reports, and gives GM ammo should they want to take CR and other magazine bias on

Great point. Probably a good thing I got a bounce back.

Will re-direct to the GM CS site. I would just like to express that, from a "target market" consumer, I think GM is better for having someone with her apparent moxy on staff in management!

I agree with Lori.

Not a good thing to post GM email addresses. (I'm gonna include a chapter or two on some of the stuff I've received......)

If you do write to GM, make sure you write the note.....save it over night...and go back again in the morning. No cursing. (it makes you look foolish...sorry, but that's just the way it is) Make it short and to the point. People don't have the time to read thru two pages when they're getting a ton of email in the first place.

Re: Rick apologizes for Lori.....

Consumer reports is a joke. Anybody who reads it religiously that I know needs to know what they think of a pair of shoes, etc. I swear I knew somebody who used one of those magazines to find out a pair of shoes, which ones were better. I'm serious.
That same guy gets into cars made 15 years ago, pushes against their dashboards and thinks he can rate their quality and then critique it. And as you guessed it, he takes the bus.
