Honda Fit starts at $13,850
I'm sure Gran Turismo lovers are familiar with this car. It seems a bit pricey for an entry level competitor, especially with Civic starting at $14,360. For a car that is supposed to regain sales lost to the Koreans and discounted domestics, I was expecting it to be in the $11-12,000 range. And it also appears the 109-hp 1.5 will be the only engine, even in the "sport" and "factory performance" trims.

Fit Sport models with the available automatic transmission, including standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, start at $15,970.

The new Aveo for '07 is better looking imo.
I got my '05 LT Sedan w/sunroof, ABS & automatic for just over $13,000. (Power everything is standard.)
Besides, who wants to say "I drive a Fit!' That's gotta be one of the worst names I've heard for a car. At least 'Aveo' SOUNDS interesting. lol
At those hp ratings I don't call it HorsePower.
My 103hp Aveo is 100% HamsterPower. Man, I can't wait 'til I can get a new car. heh

Not sure if this is gonna even shake the market up...
Only a 109 hp engine? Even if it's lightweight, that's pretty bad considering that that is the performance version as well.
I'd just get a cheap Aveo and call it a day, if I was in the market. It seems like this market would be more dependent on price, whereas a more upmarket class would be able to accept such a high price over competitors.

Or, car club, "Hey, you guys have Fits?"
Yeah, definitely a dumb name.

Yeah, definitely too high of a starting price if they're trying to compete with the Aveo and other Korean-made super econo boxes.
This seems to be more aimed at Scion's xA and xB, IMO. Neither of which I'd ever consider buying.
