I just read that. That is great news. 440 hp is really good but an extra 30 makes the car look far more powerful. I can't wait to see how the STS-V and XLR-V perform.

469HP that is awesome. Much more impressive, too bad they can't up the boost a little to get 470HP

Actually it's a 4.4L motor with a blower

Also the 4.6 DOHC SC mod motor didn't make 469 stock. You would probably put down less than 450 hp.

The new Shelby Cobra GT500 will be using that 4.6 and making 450 horsepower, right? Close enough, I figure. Especially since I'm sure the 4.6 used in the Cobra is quite a bit less expensive and also probably will handle increased boost and modding quite a bit better.

Re: Revised SAE hp/tq ratings

Odd that the XLR-V is certified at 443 hp at 6,400 rpm and 414 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3900 rpm with the same engine.

The Supercharged Northstar V-8 will also power the upcoming V-Series edition of the XLR luxury roadster slated for production in early-2006. XLR-V is certified at 443 hp at 6,400 rpm and 414 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3900 rpm. The Supercharged Northstar generates more peak power for the STS-V, compared to the XLR-V, due largely to the greater underhood space of the STS that allows more induction and exhaust capacity. On the other hand, the XLR-V will be a quicker car than the STS-V, given its superior power-to-weight ratio.
ULS should get this engine as the base engine.

Ford S/C DOHC 4.6L put down around 415-420HP on average.

It is a DOHC 5.4L making at least 475HP and possibly up to 500HP. I hope Ford uses the new rating on the Ford GT and GT500 engines

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but is the GT500 still slated to get a twin-screw blower, or is it getting a roots type?

Roots now , Ford says there isn't enough twin screws to go around.
