Hah, so this did get over to this site. I'm sure people will hate it, but I'm liking it. Put the gas-tank somewhere else (maybe take a little room away from the back seat? Probably won't get a nice trunk until it's built here.) and I'm sold.

Yes boys & girls, that's the new GTO hood & rear bumper.
Few things to add:
*That hood will be optional!
That way, us "stealth" drivers will continue to be happy.
*Not shown are the new brake calipers. Red, with "GTO" on them.
*Guages are part of an option package.

Now that guionM has confirmed I can start saving my pennies. That car looks awesome to me (20 years old and a year from my Mechanical Engineering degree, money is on the horizon!)
I like what you said about the new brakes, what size rotor and any changes to the caliper?
Also heard new wheels and larger tires, do you have any more info on these?
Also, is there going to be a rear gear change with the new engine, which undoubtedly has different horsepower and torque curves?
Thanks a ton to the poster.

I agree, and disagree. Proportions are similar, body shape is similar, grill opening is similar, wraparound headlamps are similar, side mirrors, rear quarter glass, B-pillar, and even the lower rocker panel... all almost identical in profile. Now having said that, the TRUE car nut is going to see the subtle diifferences in a heartbeat, the grill detail, shape of bumper cover, different shape of hood scoops (vs Mustang's "nostrils"), and from the side the rims, brakes, door shape, and roofline are the giveaways.
All-in-all, I REALLY LIKE the new look. It is FAR closer to a GTO than what is sitting on Pontiac dealer's lots today IMO. Duals out back look great too!
So what kid of reviews is this RHD unit receiving down under? Is the Monaro crowd happy with the agressiveness of this latest iteration?

They pretty much hate it, especially because all the changes are due to Americans and not them. But I think America will love it.
