I really hope that the SS Concept and the Camaro have nothing to do with each other as it seems RP implied before. I'm really thinking because what this dude is describing sounds alot more like Camaro cues than Chevelle or anything else.

Red Planet was right in a way. The SS Concept is not the next gen Camaro in and of itself. At the time some people were saying that the SS Concept might indeed be the next Camaro.

Now, it's obvious that the concept that Danno02SS saw is very heavily SS concept influenced. But it is definitely not the same car by a long shot. The only thing the two have in common is a lot of styling....

That latest photo shop makes the car look much better. It doesn't scream Camaro, but it does incorporate a lot of what we've been saying here in terms of what a 5th Gen should be.

It doesn't scream Camaro, but how did people feel in '82 about that car...or in '70? They were all new at one point and all influenced what we think of when we say Camaro....

But the front looks like a evolution of the 4th gen, doesn't looks too much retro and the 4 round tail light will also look like a Camaro 2 gen

GM take it to NAIAS

you are right, also do you guys remember RP said, "history will repeat itself again" the Mustang apeared first and then Camaro, that is the same thing is happening.

I am 98.9% shure that GM has a Camaro Concept, and it will apear at NAIAS, they have adds on the magazines

For whatever it's worth here, that's what I'm putting money on.

BTW, the Chevelle rumor developed from a 2 or 3 page Hot Rod magazine article that had sketches of someone's idea of a Chevelle based on a Monaro. To the best that I have ever found, no one at Chevrolet ever mentioned or seriously considered a RWD Chevelle.

I think that I can answer that...I was there.

The '82 completely blew everyone away with it's styling. Not just people like us....but non-Camaro people too. The press couldn't say enough good things about it's styling. It was amazing....it truly was.

I remember the '70 and felt it was a quantum leap forward in design. Of course I was only 9 years old....so I didn't know what the word "quantum" meant....I'm adding that after the fact. Suffice to say it made a huge splash.

The photoshopped car...IMO...doesn't even come close to creating the same type of excitement........not even close.

Hum, this new C6 looks a lot like the Camaro that Danno posted

http://czar.cnnet.upr.edu/~chris/c6.jpg

well when the 4th Gen apeared many people say that it wasn't like a Camaro.

Still I think that maybe for November or December we are going to see a "drawing of the new Camaro like it happened with the SS concept

No, if it does not have a traditional Camaro appearance just forget it. The 4th Gen strayed too far and that doesn't work.

I could go into a dramatic response on how the F4 Camaro's front end was a slightly modernized version of the F3 Camaro's .. or how it has the same basic profile, length, width, height, and all... how it has no side rear windows like the 2nd and 3rd gen... or how it's a hatchback like the 3rd gen... not to mention the fact that it is based on the 3rd Gen...

But I won't get into all that.

Let's just suffice to say that I agree with you that the photoshopped SS fifth Gen doesn't look like a Camaro to me either.

Uh, oh....please people, don't turn this thread into another 3rd vs 4th gen...The horse is dead and it's rotten away. Actually we've killed several horses over that one already.

Yup, it doesn't. And I know all that, but overall, it was the least traditional when it comes to cues and appearance. A front bumper on the LT1's and the proportions were about it.
