Haha, I heard it likes birds

And yeah, I like the current one, but this one looks like complete and utter sh*t

Why, oh, why, must they make the huge a@@ wing standard. For every person that likes it, I'm sure there are 5 people that hate it. I really wouldn't mind the look of the current Evo and STi if they would ditch the ridiculus spoiler, or make it optional on all trim levels.

Some designer from Peugeot was hired by Subaru and is responsible for that front end

I thought that the head of design came over from Alfa, who has a VERY similar front end.

Yes you are right it is Alfa, I do not know why I thought Puegeot. Thanks for the correction

Looks like he brought their hideous looks with him.

They're not actually going to sell that thing, are they?

That's ugly enough to be dangerous.

You don't buy a Subaru based on it's looks. When I bought mine, all it took was a drive on a twisted wet road to convince me that this car is about handling and speed.

If you've never driven one, do yourself a favour and test drive one this weekend.

Is it ugly? Yeah. But I could think of uglier examples.

Rumors also persist that the next-gen Impreza will be a hatchback and continue this styling evolution.

I could live with the new front end, but no hatch.

The biggest saving grace is the performance. As ugly as it is, i'd be willing to overlook that just cause of the amazing performance.

And if i were to ever purchase one, a WRX wing swap would be the first mod on my list

On the plus side, i've heard that the new WRX's will be ditching the 2.0L EJ20 for the 2.5L EJ25 . Expect power figures north of 250hp.

Re: Real pics of 2007 Subaru STi and Impreza.

Everyone says that "The looks will be second priority when you get some seat time and see what it drives like."

I beg to freaking differ. Ive driven my brother-in-law's modded WRX both recently, and when it was dead stock. Nice car, but not impressive enough to make styling like what was just posted allowable. Sure, its decently quick, but I can...COULD (damnit GM, back me up here), do better for less money. Sure, it handles nice, but I can still do better. Sure, it does all that with four doors, but Ill be damned if I WANT four doors in a toy. Sure, it goes good in the rain, but I dont race in the rain. Hell, the track wont LET me race in the rain.

Its too ugly for daily transportation, and not wild enough for toy status. Id rather buy something with an attitude BESIDES "I bought it because of the performance, pay no attention to the gruesome styling."

Took the words right out of my mouth. Glad to hear someone else who has had the same experience as me, as I've also driven a stock and modded WRX.

That's great and all but for over 30k MSRP...unless it's supercar level performance I don't want an ugly car. If I could get that same car for 20k...I'd suffer the ugly. But when you get to a certain level the sheetmetal should look just as good as the internals it's covering up.
