If it meant selling you the car , Im almost positive the dealer would remove the badges for free . Prediction , GM will get alot dealer complaints and that little badge will be cancelled before the 06 MY is over .
Re: Ready to buy your new GM badged car?
Why did it take GM so long to figure this out??? They could still be at 50% market share, at least, if they just would have put a 1 inch square GM trademark in an inconspicuous place. No wonder sales are falling.
It couldn't possibly have had anything to do with
1. low perceived value
2. god-awful styling
3. ancient technology (I know, some exceptions)
4. crappy assembly (maybe fixed now - lets ask the question in 5 years)
5. asinine marketing programs
6. management that didn't know what day it is, much less how to build cars
7. unions that have bled the goose to near death
8. cheapest possible materials
9. interiors from that would shame a Yugo (better now)
10. predatory dealers
11. and the best part, sticker prices that make one airsick.
About every 3 years, GM will have a crisis in which the execs issue press releases stating that everything has changed, they get it know, yes, there have been problems, but now thats all in the past. It never is, and here we go again. Its like clockwork.

What is the problem with this? Is it NOT a GM car? I remember my mom and dad's 86 and 87 Olds had "GM" on the seat belts.
There are several "GM" badges inside and on different body pannels.
What makes it different that there is a tinny little GM badge on the rear?

Re: Ready to buy your new GM badged car?
From everything I've read the badge will be put on only cars produced and sold in North America. Which means I dont think SAAB and the GTO would have such badges on them.
Not that horrible of a thing, something easily removed with a heat gun if its stuck on. I think its kinda a pointless idea though. I mean its just one more thing that had to produced and is a waste of money. Im sure the badge making and materials its on didnt cost that much money, but thats still some change that could've been put back into the employees pockets are into engineering and etc.
