Actually the 2004 Saturn Vue is using a 250 hp version of the Honda V6 that is used in the 2004 Accord and Pilot.

I guess "Powered by Honda" stickers will be gracing Saturns in the near future.

I don't get it, I really don't. That's like saying, "Yeah, our engines suck, so we're going to use a Honda engine in one of our cars". It's admitting defeat.

I couldn't agree with you more...it is admitting defeat, and very nonchalantly i might add!

I was never clear on that one either. A couple of points which may or may not be relevant. The Honda V6 achieves a better emissions rating than GM's current V6s, so maybe it was a means of getting emissions credits. Also, as part of the deal Honda is purchasing Diesel engines from GM (Fiat, actually), so perhaps it was more palatable for both companies to explain it as a trade.
