Well it's hard to tell...they may have trademarked it just to keep as an option. They just re trademarked Camaro last August too, so I can;t be sure. I was told GM was shying away from using Chevelle to avoid the puritan backlash they recieved over the GTO...especially since the Chevy car won't be retro...and supposedly has a nice chrome bow bar on the front..

Good points... still hard to overlook though.

Does anyone kow how often a manufacturer has to 're-trademark' a model name to keep it for themselves?

I am unsure...but GM trademarks alot of names you will never see...

They may have had to trademark Chevelle because they were using it in alot of thier advertising for the SS concept...which fits the Feb registraion timeline.

It could either be called Camaro, Monte Carlo, or Chevelle....it is not yet decided though...
