The only real thing that might suck is weight. The current Fiesta weighs 2500 lbs. This is supposed to be "lighter," but how much lighter? 3 lbs? 300 lbs?

I remember when CRX HFs were 1700 lbs.

It's a shame that this car hasn't already been on the market for a few years.

Ford really needs to dump the Fiesta name. I think the name is somewhat marred from the cruddy piece of junk they used to sell under the Festiva/Fiesta? name in the late 80's. Not to be technical, but isn't the new Fiesta technically the successor to the last tiny ford sold in N/A under the Aspire name?

Not only that, but why does "****" in front of almost every Ford brand name make me want to giggle?

**** Explorer
**** Probe
**** Fiesta
**** Focus
**** Expedition
**** EXCURSION
**** Aspire
**** Ranger

...it must just be me.

LOL, that's hilarious!

I like the looks of the sedan, hopefully will do well for Ford.

It looks like a nice car.... Assuming Ford can maintain that European Flair which it seems to loose in All vehicles when they Americanize them

While that is a really good looking sedan, does anyone else notice the sincere lack of a B pillar?

If the lil 2 door is 42mpg US that would be pretty insane. I hate to say it, but if Ford brings it over along with the Euro Focus, they are going to have some seriously nice cars sitting on lots.

Depending on material quality of the interior, that could seriously put the B segment to shame. It looks awesome, but does it feel anywhere close?

Why won't the gauge bezel eyes and chrome clown mouth on the wheel stop giving me a sadistic clown look mommy

If the 42 gallons to the mile are imperial, the US measurement would be 35 mpg.

Not a tremendous achievement - it's on par with Yaris. They could be having smaller engines in Europe that do actually get 42 US mpg, but I doubt we'd see them here (I'm talking about 1.2 L naturally aspirated).

Fiesta, Siesta? whats the difference.

Actually, it looks pretty nice. Don't worry though, Ford NA will find a way of scewing it up before we can get our hands on it.

The car you see is the production version. Mulally has already stated that there is to be no more "dumbing down" for N/A markets. He found it to be incredibly stupid, that Ford did not have any "true" global vehicles.

I believe the US version gets the 1.6L I4 with the new Getrag/Ford Powershift automatic/manual. This new transmission is supposed to help FE quite a bit. Thus, the 42mpg is not surprising.

GM already said the US is not getting the Beat. I think Lutz himself said it, yesterday.
