My info is close to guess who's.

*The GT will be an LS1 slayer with a 4 valve motor at least optional.

* The BOSS will be back! It's unclear at this point if it will have a 4.6, 5.0 or 5.4....but it will definately bridge the gap, power wise, between GT and Cobra. Figure over 350 hp. The BOSS is also expected to have an IRS.

*The Cobra may have two motors. A normally aspirated400 hp 5.4, (which will be within afew bucks of the current Cobra), and a more expensive, ($40K range), S/C and SuperCooled version, in the 500 hp range.

As per the deck height,The 4.6's deck height is 8.937,And the 5.4 is 10.079
100% correct regarding SVT & FPD. The point I wanted to get across is that SVT won't have anything to do with the Boss.

I had the distinction between SVT and the rest of FPG explained in vivid detail when I implied by a question that SVT would loose it's identity once adsorbed by FPG.

Just for general information to all, SVT is still their own entity, but they fall under the umbrella of Ford Performance Group, which handles all in house aftermarket, racing, and performance cars. SVT is sort of a inhouse AMG or "M" division for the Ford Motor Division only. All other limited or special edition performance cars, or any performance versions of Lincoln/Mercury is handled by the FPG guys responsible for product development. They work for the same boss as SVT, but they have no connection with them except perhaps grabbing some of the same parts out of the FPG parts inventory lists.

In short, any issues with a Cobra or Lightning would be dealt with by SVT, while issues with a Boss Mustang, or a future high performance Lincoln LS would be handled by Ford itself. Same thing, but different.

guionM,Your very informed. And I will like to add where you left off.
SVT mainly went into the same catergory as FPG because SVT didnt want to share its technology in a vehicle that didnt wear an SVT badge. The main ball buster came when Mercury was to bring out a Cougar S,Which "would" of had the SVT Contour engine in it.But SVT wasnt having it.So the car got canceled. Then when they wanted to bring the Harley 150 to market (S/C version) SVT couldnt do nothing to stop it.Thats also how they got the the 01 Cobra engine in the Maruader,Aviator and MACH1.But when it comes to the BOSS Mustang and the MACH1 I'd have to say FPG isnt doing to bad! This FPG is doing nothing BUT good as long as we take the Marauder out of the conversation

All this HP from Ford makes me wonder if they actually intend to slay a long departed nemisis, Camaro/Firebird LS1, or do they plan to meet a future foe???????

AS for what I know a 400hp GT seems a bit high, I've heard 350 but things do change. Remember the GT is a large volume seller in the Mustang brand and at 350hp it may be subject to gas guzzler tax, as the Cobra is now.

As for the new Cobra I think 500hp is possible considdering that I feel Ford is moving the Cobra to meet the Vette and maybe the Z06 on equal terms. Based on what I know about the C6 it will take Ford/SVT 500 or so hp to keep up. Because ya gotta move that much more mass.

With Chrysler's jump into the performance game and the Ram SRT and Neon SRT poised to rain on SVT's parade I think the future looks bright for us performance loyalists. GM just has to jump in with something more than what they've given us!

guionM, send me the interview with Colletti, i forgot about that.
