Post your idea for a new name of the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt

I say Nova. Different trim levels, with SS on top. Cobalt SS just sounds wrong to me.

Cobalt is fine. I'd rather see GM come up with new names than stretch the integrity of their more popular historical ones. Especially for this car and its audience, a fresh start is the best idea.

Ya, I totally agree...

"Cobalt" doesn't put me off at all... it sounds modern as well... I think it would be a decent name for the car and the crowd.

I like that it's a new name, and agree that Cavalier has gotten a bit old, but 'Cobalt' isn't doing it for me yet. It may take some time to grow on me.

I would like to suggest Radium, over Cobalt.

I also like Cobalt. Nova doesn't have much equity in my mind; all I remember are the Toyotas of the 80s or the wheezy rustbuckets of the 70s.

Cobalt works for me too. I think that once you hear it used day to day it won't sound so out of place anymore. The car is in essence a plain ol' economy car. The name Civic doesn't sound much better...but it isn't a hinderance on that car.

Call me odd, but the name Cobalt actally sounds a little German to me. Brings to mind a higher level of build and maybe even some German sofistication. But that's just me....

Cobalt's OK. I guess it'll grow on me.

I agree.

out with the old, in with the new. Cobalt seems like a fine name, easy to spell and doesn't sound girly.
