Porsche GT2

http://blogs.edmunds.com/Straightline/2475

It looks like Porsche has an answer to the upcoming Blue Devil (and more powerfull Viper). We obviously only have speculation on the Blue Devil, but how do you think the Porsche and BD may compare? Will the BD be outgunned at the track? Or again, will GM be able to match Porsche performance at 2/3 the cost?

Those front brakes are huge. It looks like they take up the entire wheel.

They say the GT2 will push the 500 HP mark....the Blue Devil is supposed to have 600+, and it's supposed to be lighter than the Z06. I don't know how the GT2 will fare against that.

The GT3 weights in at 3076 and the Turbo at 3495

We know that the Blue Devil is supposed to weight less than 3132 that the current Z06 weights... SO:

if that's any indication of what the GT2 will weight... at a 100 HP less than the Blue Devil... I wouldn't worry too much.

Those rotors may be larger then stock rims on some production cars.

That car doesn't look much different than the GT2 did 7 years ago. Internally it is probaby different though. I'm not sure how familiar Porsche consumers are with their cars' past though.

Looks like it will be a very cool car, but man, that back spoiler is weird. Do you see the weird shape just under the wing of the spoiler? Maybe it is functional, but it is UUUUUGLY.

And it looks like just about every other 911 to me, but many could say that about the Z06 compared to the base coupe.

I'd get one if I could afford it, I'm with the rest on the wing, looks like some form of malignant cancer.

--->edit<---

That, said how long before some hack styling company rips porsche off and uses the GT2 styling for a honda body kit.

Yeah, what is up with that bulge under the spoiler, extra fuel cell ?
The GT2's are all about acceleration and handling, they're one of my all-time favorites!..0-60 right around the 3 second mark!..

I like it except for the bulge. Hopefully the Blue Devil can still whoop on it.

Looks like a 911 Turbo with more louvers, air dams and bigger more exaggerated spoiler. I think Porsche makes some sweet cars but I hate the way they load up their special models with all the extra body work. They start off with the Turbo then add more for the GT2 and GT3. I know they need to dress up every uber' model with more but it starts to look ridiculous. I'm sure the car is killer and its performance second to none but to me the 911 Carrera is much better looking.
