Pony Car Wars!!!!!!
Re: Pony Car Wars!!!!!!
Ricer guys could not afford Supras when they were new (neither could alot of other people it seems). Supras didn't get in with that crowd till used prices dropped down to Camaro-Mustang levels, and to think that a $40,000+ Supra will sell again just isn't realistic.
Skyline GT-Rs are great cars till you look at the price. It's one thing to race them at home on a computer game, but it's another thing to pay $60,000+ for one. If you want a regular Skyline, the G35 coupe's the same car.
Cougar is a near certainty. According to the buzz we'll see it for 2007MY, but whatever year it's due out it's being worked on. But then again, it seems 4 years has past since work started on the the Mark IX, and Ford still hasn't put it on the road yet, and with this Lincoln FWD facination Ford's flirting with, it may not happen for years.
"Challenger" (if that's the name) seems like it's going to happen, though we probally won't know till either this Auto Show season or next.
Chevy & Pontiac's coupe, are basically the same car going after different segments. The days of twin F-bodies are over (good riddence).

dohc v8s aren't exactly cheap to make
also, i think the i-6 was really the supra's engine and the one they should keep in there (don't they make over 600hp modded on the stock bottom end or something insane?)
also, how is toyota ever going to make a good looking car? their styling has got to be some of the worse i've seen *jmho*

Who knows, maybe a version of that engine will find its way to a production vehicle.

There has been some word...from more than one source...that DCX will have a 2 door LX-based coupe concept at next years show circuit (not necessarily at NAIAS). It has also been suggested that this 2 door concept might be smaller than Charger.
And how big will Charger be? Smaller than Magnum/300. The 2003 Chrysler Airflite Concept, is supposed to be a spot on representation of Charger's chassis dimensions and certain design cues (not the greenhouse).
If we go by that...Charger would be the same size as the current GTO.

Besides...why are we ONLY talking about the Supra?
