Not bad. They should have gotten rid of the cladding long ago. I hope they will put a manual trans. in at least some of these cars.

Where's the T/A?

That's ok, Trans Am WS6 sounds much better than Trans Am GXP anyway.

Well there you have it......

........Pontiac small, medium, large, X-tra large (when the GTO...XP?? gets here) and XX Large ............all looking darned near identical ........ God I HATE corporate styling!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I think they're an improvement (except the Sunfire, WTF were they thinking??) but the loss of individual model identity will be a failed experiment.........

Why do you think this is something new? The Grand Prix and Grand Am and even Bonneville to an extent have looked nearly identical for years.

And I'm glad your phrophetic powers have declared these cars failures. I don't know what brands like BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda/Acura, Chrysler, etc are thinking when they spread their own styling themes over several models at a time. But you probably manufacture and sell more cars than all of them combined, so what do they know...

Thumbs up

I'm kind of impressed with this. I think it's an impressive way to assemble your arsenal. I also love the Bonneville. That car is growing on me.

I really like the Bonnie!! that thing looks mean ..and the Sunfire..WOW I really like it..so sue me...I think the mission for sunfire..like seen there is its going to bring the import guys to Pontiac to buy there FWD "performance" and grow from there..buy the sunfire..and move up to the next level of GM performance..looks better than the Acura RSX..and we know that most rice rag wannabees know nothing about HP just stylin and would go for that over a RSX..just give it 200HP now and were all set and we can call it a pocket rocket for pontiac

Am I the only one who thinks that all these cars getting these brushed chrome interior plastic pieces is tacky?

Here we go again........

The word new was nowhere in my post......and watch what you say about cars looking alike, I still feel that the GTO looks like a clone and I still get personally attacked for having a dissenting opinion from the lock-step comformists in this place

I called this an experiment because this is an obvious conscious effort on Pontiac's part, as was stated by Lutz, to make Pontiac a BMW clone..........i.e. all models have a corporate styling theme...with no individual model styling......with that being said I simply stated MY OPINION that I hated it.....are we not allowed our own opinions?

And I'm glad your phrophetic powers have declared these cars failures. You know, I get really tired of the amateur ad hominem attacks that anyone with a dissenting opinion has to suffer through on this board.

WTF cares what these other car companies do? I could give reasons why I think they do this but why bother.....I don't want to buy one of their cars because of these reasons.....but, this is a discussion about GM's direction.

I like the fact that I can tell my Camaro from a Cavalier......from a Corvette.......from a Malibu....from an Impala.....etc...........if you like all the models in a brand to be the same, then you oughta' be tickled.....at least you didn't get flamed because of your opinion You gonna' be as happy when Chevy throw's that stainless steel spear / bowtie across the front of all the Chevy model's? Oughta' really spice up the Corvette................

I thought Lutz was trying to move GM away from brand-uniform styling...or maybe that was just Chevy he was talking about after we heard that big dumb spear would be used on everything...oh but wait now it's on the back of the 2003 Cavalier. GM confuses me sometimes. By the way Doug I agree with you...they look nice (except the Sunfire...the grill opening is WAY too big for a compact car!) but too similar in many ways.

Considering the fact that the GTO STILL hasn't been shown in production form, I can understand while people would attack you on your opinion of looking like a clone. When it's finally shown in production form, I'll probably agree with you 100%, but I will reserve my judgement until that time.

As for the GXP cars, I think they look good, and are distinct enough to be able to tell what's what. Just my 2 cents. Give me a Sunfire GXP with a manual and I'll have a new daily driver.
