Lots of speculation going on, especially after Mr. Lutz's Geneva comments - but as of this moment, no actual work on a Zeta for Pontiac. Hopefully some sort of action soon.

 

I think coupe like sedan (Grand Prix perhaps) with GTO as a derivative or top line trim level.

Maybe a sedan with a quad coupe GTO version.

 

Just want to point out that this is a speculation thread.

 

So far, I'd say it's pretty clear what most people want and expect....

A GP sedan, and a GTO coupe.

 

Just one more twist and I've got to run....

Before the Zeta Pontiacs were cancelled (or as BL said, "had everyone put their pencils down") last time, there was a G8 sedan (essentially a VE Commodore), a G8 coupe ( Commodore sized 2 door) and a GTO, (shared with the Chevy coupe).

After that, Pontiac management regrouped, and was pushing for a "CLS type", 4 door coupe instead of the Commodore rebadge.

Expect some sort of a decision soon....

 

I hope the scenario you pointed out of a CLS type coupe and a standard sedan plays out. Or a CLS coupe with a standard 2 door coupe. Either way, somebody needs to copy that CLS style, and Pontiac has some good heritage it can slap on that bodystyle.

As for the vote, I'm being optomistic, so I voted 2 Zetas, coupe and sedan. But that's optomistic, at this point, regardless, we are very far away from concrete information, it would seem.

btw - is there a chance of keeping the Grand Prix name instead of a genero G8 name? Since the G6 Poncho has brought out the Solstice and the Torrent, so hopefully they'll keep real names?

 

Question - Will the Grand Prix badge make it to the next Pontiac Zeta sedan? I don't like the alpha-numeric badging Pontiac is heading towards.

Btw, I voted GP Sedan with a GTO coupe.
