Pontiac to price it's "Cobalt" with Cobalt SS.
Re: Pontiac to price it's "Cobalt" with Cobalt SS.
Pontiac's always been into "turbo's", like the 2nd gen T/A, the mid '80's Grand Am, and the early GTP...and now the Solstice....it only makes since to use a turbo version in the Pontiac, and leave the SC in the Cobalt...to me.
That's what I've done since I posted that, I like it better that way too..
Look at the Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, and Buick LaCrosse.
Or even on the Delta platform, HHR, Cobalt, Ion, Opel Astra
or on Epsilon = Malibu, G6, Saab 9-3, Saturn Aura
Those are examples of platfom sharing done correctly.

GTP actually replaced the McLaren Turbo and used the 3.4 DOHC.

Don't forget the Sunbird Turbo, 1989 Third-Gen Turbo T/A Indy Pace Car and 89-90 McLaren Turbo Grand Prix Coupe and 1990 McLaren Turbo Grand Prix STE sedan.

And the 'lil Sunbird was pretty fast in its day too, I test drove one back in the day. I was just turned off by how cheap the interior was...
But it really pulled and pulled... a real sleeper.
This is what makes Pontiac exciting!
I just hope they at least get factory 20/20 boost/vac gages, and good Intercoolers(aftercoolers).
