I guess what I'm saying is, how different is different enough... similar size and shape, but entirely different skin? Or more subtle, as different fenders, hood, trunk, spoiler...?
Some people like the basic package of some of Chevy's vehicles, just want a younger, more performance "Flair", trim & interior..

To sum it up for me... I don't want to see any visable parts that are obviously shared with another vehicle.

The G6 and Malibu are good examples of platform sharing being that are no visual ties to the 2 .

Cobalt /Pursuit . Pontiac badges placed where chevy ones go . A tack on pontiac grill insert to cover the chevy design underneath . The only specic Pursuit items are the wheels , guage cluster , taillights and the lower rear valance . The rest of the car is 100 % Cobalt .

Thats the difference .

I'd like to see Ponchos with their own unique personality. An obvious rebadge of a Cobalt is just that....a Chevy with an arrowhead on it. We need to see striking, different sheetmetal, different interior design, maybe some "G5"-specific options...you know, some reason to choose the Pontiac over the Chevy, especially when the Pontiac starts at a higher price.

Gotcha, ...me too...but we may have to wait 'til GM gets some firmer footing before we see a clean break in brand badging...right?

a G6 sedan already starts at $17k and a G6 coupe starts at ~$22k. if this "G5" or whatever starts at $20k and change, how is it an "entry-level" vehicle?

seems a rather redundent way to go. pretty lame.

Re: Pontiac to price it's "Cobalt" with Cobalt SS.

I agree that a 20K base price isn't "entry level".

Solstice is a good small compact performance car.

Vibe is in need of retooling, but could be a good entry level level, if done right.

I heard that the Montana was going over to Buick over 6 months ago.

If Pontiac does actually get a delta, ... Please in the name of God, don't let it be called G4 or G5. I absolutely hate the letter/number combo for Pontiac. Give it a name. And new sheetmetal would also help.

FWIW... Buick already has a minivan... the Terazza.

I actually think there is a place for a Buick minivan, contrary to what some others think.

I'd keep two minivans in GM's lineup... a Chevy and a Buick. Drop the Pontiac (done) and drop the Saturn.

The Chevy Uplander can be the value leader, the Buick Terazza can be the luxury appointed family minivan. After all, Buick is a family oriented entry to mid level luxury brand.

Saturn is supposedly moving a little upscale, but will have a sporty edge to it... not unlike Pontiac (which again makes things a bit confusing in and of itself) , but I don't see how the Saturn minivan (Relay) fits in a lineup with vehicles like Aura and Sky... it's not the same message whatsoever.

Pretty sure Terazza is history too . Enclave is either replacing the Rainer and Terazza , or the Rainer and Rendezvous. Either or , dont remember which .

WSJ reports the coupe is called the G5. It will be priced at below $15,000 and Pontiac will also sell a performance version.
