Yes, it has a different grille and taillights, and I think they make it look better than a cobalt. Of course they look alike.

Not too confusing

What is that supposed to mean? I like the ferrari 430 but hate the 360, what kind of logic is that? It's just an opinion... people are getting bent out of shape about this...

What he said.

Looks are subjective. If everyone thought F-body's looked as good as we think they do, they would still be around.

I just happen to like the tail lites on the pursuit more than the "vette" lites of the cobalt.

I guess I took my right to free speech too far. I'll give myself 40 lashes.

I agreed they look alike. . I'm simply saying I prefer the pursuit.

Re: Pontiac Canada: 2006 Pursuit coupe

GM should change their advertising for Pontiac to be something along of the lines of

"Pontiac: GM's Mercury"

Thats all the future seems to hold for them.
Now, that's a little odd. Where's Mercury's 400 HP GTO analog? Where's their Solstice? Their Grand Prix GXP? and their G6 GTP? Sorry, that's a stupid and baseless analogy.

Pontiac is trying to find an identity, and having just a variation of another division's car is not helping. Sure, they have a nice high performance model of each, but how much volume do they bring in. How many Grand Prixs sold are GXPs? How many G6s sold are GTPs? If you are simply in the market to buy a basic car, you can find everything Pontiac has to offer elsewhere, and that is where my problem lies with Pontiac. I thought the Solstice would be a great idea, until I found out Saturn of all divisions would be getting one. I will give you the GTO though. It would be a whole hell of alot cheaper to just buy a GTO here than import a Monaro from down under.

I don't want to see Pontiac wither and die anytime soon, but I still hate how they seem to get all of the hand me downs. It really unnerves me that we may be seeing an end to both the GTO and Grand Prix soon, both of which I actually like.

So....what you're saying is pontiac should design and use their own seperate platforms solely for use within their division?

Isn't that the exact opposite of what GM is trying to accomplish?

Re: Pontiac Canada: 2006 Pursuit coupe

Pontiac is trying to find an identity? Maybe I misread that, could be the beer though.

Nice redesigns in the last while, Bonneville, Grand Prix freshened up, Saturn is getting a version of the Solstice (not pontiac getting a version of the Sky). Wasn't it the Solstice that Lutz swore was going to happen, and the Sky was spun off of it? I do admit I think side by side I would prefer the sky....but I'd have to see them in person next to each other.

G6, sharp car, good performance.

Oh wait they did bring that holden car over didn't they...yeah they're trying to find an identity.

Honestly, the way I look at it, Firebird bowed out and they need something right now to fill the gap for that class of car right away and they f*ckin delivered. No matter how you look at it.

Aside from the Firebird/Trans Am, and the Aztek (thank god) - Pontiac is still producing what they've always been doing for years - amercian sedans with a bit of oomph and potential for more ooomph and a bit of flare for the dollar. So now they get a nice G6 and a lil roadster, and rebadged hi powered rwd coupe.

Hardly searching for an identity in my mind.

If you're in the market for a basic car you can find everything Honda, Nissan, Chevy, Toyota, Dodge etc etc......has to offer (edit)

... in a HYUNDAI.

No, I know that would be unfeasible, and far from cost efficient. I still think there are too many ho-hum vehicles in GM's performance division though.

sigh...ok...let me try and put this the right way...

you're in the market for a 97 Camaro. You go to a used car lot and there are two 97 Camaro's side by side. Same color, same options, same in every way, except one of them has an SS hood. Which do you buy?

There's no right or wrong answer to this, you buy whichever one you like best. One guy may not like the scoop, whereas you do.

compreenda?

Re: Pontiac Canada: 2006 Pursuit coupe

I happen to think that the recessed grilles and 427 tails make a big difference in the GTO's appearance. It's enough of a difference that if one came equipped as such and the other came with the flush grilles and standard GTO tail lights, I'd prefer the Recessed/427, despite no other differences in the cars whatsoever.
does that help clarify his preferences any?
OT: I think the 360 looks far better than the 430. The 430 seems a little TOO low proportioned for me, the 360 seemed to have a very nice balance to it. Then again, Im yet to see a 430 up close.
