Knowing the beancounters at GM, they'd probably only go down halfway. LOL!

I've always loved the B/C body fullsized GM cars of the early to mid '70's. Especially the hardtop (pillarless) sedans.

Then, the new downsized '77's came out with that stupid rear window that only went down halfway.

they roll half way down for saftey reasons, not for saving money. GM will just put another crappy window motor like the 4th gens, and its just another PITA thing to get too if it falls apart.

Another vote for a single side glass on the side. I still love the hatch design. IF the Camaro comes back as a hatch, I would like to see the Malibu Maxx/Equinox sliding and reclining rear seats as an option. That would help out rear seat space so it can actualy hold 2 more real sized peopole, and not just be a waste of space. I think thats an + for daily driving versitility. You can slide and fold the seats flat, and put some lugage in the back, or have plenty of room for 2 more people. Anyone who has sat in the rear of the Maxx with the seat all the way back, and fully reclined will agree with me. If you havent, do it and understand how important and cool this would be in the next Camaro.

I like the idea of roll down 3/4 windows. So count me as a yes on that one. I think no side glass makes for a claustrophobic rear seat. But if push comes to shove , I would certainly be willing to live with the status quo; it's been that way since 1970.5.

On a related note, if the windows roll down, how would this affect the implementation of T-tops? To my knowledge (and I could be wrong), all of the cars that previously offered T-tops as an option had no, or fixed 3/4 windows. Are there structural and/or saftey concerns that would negate T-tops if the 3/4 glass was not fixed?

Honestly, most of you don't know what you're asking for here.

The car SHOULD NOT look like a BMW 3 series coupe.

Pacer, personally I hope we DONT get rear quarter windows. The design has worked well since 1970, why change that? Plus, I like t-tops, and I want them to stay, and I can only see that happening without the quarter windows. But if we do get rear quarter windows, roll down ones would be best i would think.

As much as I love 1st gens... I can do without the rear windows. Case in point?

You know how I'm always saying my wife isn't a car person? Today I got a FedEx package from GM chock full of GTO information. I forced my wife to look at the GTO brochure, her one and only comment?

"It looks like a Mustang".

It must be those damn rear quarter windows.

She has glasses.

Actually she was looking at this angle when she said it...

It does kind of resemble my kid's '96 Mustang... if you don't know cars.

If the car is gonna have strong 1st gen cues in the qtr panels and roof, it needs 1st gen roll down qtr windows.

No rear quarter windows. Too retro.
