Pics of the new 2004 Mazda3
It's been said before, but I'll say it, too: not my cup of tea...
Will probably sell somewhat decently in Europe, but that's about it. :blah:
Aztek looks better than this?
Whoa!!! Definetely a matter of taste...

when i first read about the element i thought to myself "hah! its the Honda Asstek, it will never sell! but when it came out i started seeing a bunch of them on the street. which makes me wonder if whatever Honda will put out these days is going to automatically sell...

The element is an ugly box on wheels, but the aztek??? words can't describe it. It still holds on to tile of worlds "uglies car" imo.

I think it's a real close battle between these two!

The Elements flat plastic fenders are just so goofy looking!
I don't know which is worse, to be honest.

I barely see one of them a few times a month, maybe once a week, but that's about it. Not that I'd really like to see them anyway...

I doubt it, since this is a F-body board, that the Mazda 3 is anyones "cup of tea" but if I was in the market for a new small car--there is no choice but to go to Japan.
American small cars are junk.
I have driven a Mazda 6--V6 std and auto and its an awesome car. Super stiff chassis, excellletn handling, and one of the best shifters/clutches I've ever had the pleasure of using. A real fun car to drive. I'd take it hands down over that Honda Accord and the torque sterr monster called the Altima.
Now if Mazda is giving the same fun to drive treatment to the 3--it'll be a great car.
Base engine is a 148hp 2.0 and a 2.3L 160hp is an option.
Some kind of high performance factory tuner version is probably in the works.
I dunno where the word ugly describes this car--it looks like an aupdated Mazda 5 wagon---nothing offensive about it---like a Aztek, Elemnt or Gremlin.
