Thumbs up Son of a Gun ! It's HEMI Orange !!

I sure miss painted motors.

Pontiac had a wicked shade of blue, and Oldsmobile did as well.

When Ford went to gray, and GM went to black, things got kind of boring.

And, of course, now we are in the no-paint 'cuz it's aluminum phase.

Does that mean this has an iron block ?

wtf....all that guy had to do was take 5 big steps back so we could see the car. No more guessing on what the Charger looks like.

Anyway, nice shots of the 6.1.

GM should take a few lessons in dressing up their motors. The LS1 sure is a great motor, but it looks like ***.

haha ok? How is 2 "valve covers" with Hemi 6.1 on them gunna teach GM a lesson? Take a look at the GTO, C5 and C6. I think GM is fine, they dont need to copy the hemi.

That picture has been around for awhile. The motor is in an LX car.... but probably not Charger though.

The pic appeared on a Mopar site...maybe 9 or 10 months ago, and DCX issued some threats and it was pulled shortly thereafter. But so many people downloaded it....it's all over the place now. I think I posted that pic here 6 months ago.

I completely forget, (because I once knew) but how again are the HEMI's today different from the original HEMI heads?

The LS1 covers are lousy BTW, and that intake has long runners kinda like TPI.

i don't care for the paint on the block thing. if anything it's a layer of insulation for the heat causing the engine to run hotter.

The modern hemi does not have a true hemisperical combustion chamber. There's little 'tangs' cutting in from both sides that kinda help encircle the valves. Also, the new one has two spark plugs per cylinder.

it's the radiator's job to dissipate heat, not the block's. Iron blocks need to be painted so they don't rust.
