Mr.Martian, you're my last hope. I am having many, many problems with my G6 and my local dealers are unable to do anything after multiple attempts. So I spent an hour today on the phone with GM customer service in hopes of getting a qualified tech to come out and take a look at my car. But apparently, GM CS is contracted to a different company, as they had NO supervisor that would take resposibility, and they would give me NO other number to call. I was unable to find anything online either.

Please help me get in touch with somebody at GM so I can voice my concerns. Hopefully this can be fixed, my only other option is an attorney.

 

Hopefully Lew or one of the other Pontiac guys can help you out, Scott is with Chevrolet officially and I don't think he deals with dealer relations directly. If this is a problem with the panoramic roof on the G6 I suggest you contact Walt over on C&G as he is having problems with the one on his car.

 

I am not looking to talk to dealers. An honest tech at one dealership told me that there is nothing they can do. They don't know how to fix it, and GM won't tell them. And if I brought it in again they would just park it for 2 days and then call me to pick it up. He said that in his opinion, these problems are inherent in the design and can't be fixed. Funny how that wasn't mentioned in the brochure, huh?

I am just amazed that this is the ONLY number I could find to contact such a huge corporation. The people answering the phones are completely powerless to help me, AND they refuse to give me the number of anybody who can. I thought mfrs have arbitration boards set up just for this purpose? Is court my only way out?

Also, I wouldn't say a tech saying "we don't know how to fix it" is necessarily being honest. Perhaps, HE doesn't know how, or the guys at his dealer.

Not arguing; I don't know the specifics of your case at all. I do wish you luck in getting it fixed though.

 

Sounds like it could be the panaramic roof? If so, there are plenty of certified dealerships that know who to fix it. Now, once you get it fixed, it's just a point of you doing a follow up call to say it was fixed by the dealership in which you got it fixed by.

My 06 G6 with the Pano roof is now hitting its second week with the dealership and they are working with GM engineers to try to fix the horrible creaking and popping noises from the roof. They expect it to be fixed by Tuesday. I'll let you know how it works.

The G6 is probably the best GM cars I have owned in quality of materials and ride, but the Pano roof was the wrong choice and has caused some headaches.

Make a complaint to Pontiac Cares, make sure they contact your dealership and let them know you're serious about it. Help from Scott never hurts either. :-)

If it's the pano-roof, there is already a TSB for fixing it from GM. Has something to do with installing washers on the mounts for it.

 

I just sold my 05 G6 GT after owning it for less than 9 months. I had too many problems with it.

Repeating what 91_z28_4me said, Scott is attached to Chevrolet, and he'll be the 1st to tell you there's alot of things he doesn't know about other GM divisions. I think the G6 roof problem is likely to fall in that catagory.

Jason till a couple of weeks ago actually was a Pontiac dealer, so he should be the 1st person you'd want to go to. I'm sure he can add some firepower to getting your problem fixed.

Also, try the Pontiac Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-762-2737.

Just those 2 alone should be able to either get your problem fixed (assuming it can) or give you some good options.

 

My question is; is there anyone with a panoramic roof that isn't having problems with their's, because it is a cool idea, even if the execution sucks.

 

Please let me know what happens with your car. I'm in the same boat as you, my roof makes so many popping/creaking/groaning noises over almost any road surface. Only on brand new repaved roads is it completely quiet. I did mention the printout to my dealer last time, and he said all those TSB are in their system (he counted 6 for the roof) and they will follow them. I also have issues with the 6-speed, an intermittent starting problem, and rattles coming from seemingly every corner of the car. Do you have the number for Pontiac Cares? I called 1-800-762-2737 and they were useless. If Jason or Lew read this, please help me out.

I don't have a clue what's going on with the roof. I have heard on the various boards there being an issue with squeaks and rattles with the pano roof, but to be honest, I sold 5-6 between '05 and '06, and none appear to have any significant issues with them. If there are, my customers never seemed to complain about them up to my departure 2 weeks ago.

To be honest, other than Pontiac Customer Care, I don't have a clue what you could do. To be frank, I KNEW Pontiac was going to have a goddamned issue with that roof...it just seemed too "neato" to be true. Its an awesome feature, and once they get the bugs out, customers will begin to really enjoy them. I figured leaks would plague it though, not squeaks...

I went through hell to get Pontiac to buy back my first GTO (long story, it spent 35 days in the shop in the first 2 1/2 months of ownership). I have some email addresses and phone numbers which are guaranteed to get you some attention.

 

I could be wrong, but I believe maksik7 has a G6 coupe w/6-speed and coupes don't come with the pano roof, right.

 

Well I'm not calling anyone a liar....but according to the Pontiac website your right...you cant get a coupe with the Panoramic Roof.
