Oprah/Pontiac give away 276 new G6's

That's right...

Oprah had a show with 276 car needy audience individuals who all received a brand spanking new G6. Pontiac is taking care of the customizing and the taxes on the vehicles. Nice door prize!

A lot of the news sources are forgetting to say that Pontiac donated the cars - the dollars didn't come out of Ms Winfrey's golden pocket.

I don't care what you say. Pontiac and Opra teaming up to give 276 people a new car is freakin awesome!

Yeah, they make it sound like it was all her. I bet some folks at GM are hot right about now.

Yeah, that is a pretty awesome idea. She could have said no, or went with an Acura TSX or Honda Accord or something...but she took the Pontiac. I caught the rerun of the show late at night, and saw her take the tour of the plant.
That sunroof is killer, IMO! I REALLY cant wait for teh 6spd, 3.9 coupe!

This was a marketing stroke of genius for Pontiac. For a mere 8 million dollars...they had 30 million viewers engrossed in the G6 for one hour.

Does anyone remember when she said beef was bad, and she stopped eating meat? All her minions stopped eating meat!! I remember there being a HUGE thing on the news about it, and how the cattle farmers were up in arms about low beef sales.
Then like 3 weeks later, she said its ok to eat beef, and sales returned....

I see GM has picked up on something. Dont be surprised to see a few housewives hanging around your local Pontiac dealer.

Despite my romp in an '04 Mustang last night (fun ride but decided not for me), the GTP 3.9 6 speed is THE car I cannot wait to test drive next spring. As soon as we can order GTP models I'll be having my sales manager order a Stealth Grey GTP 6 speed with nothing but that roof. I may just need to sell it...to myself

As much as I love my Grand Prix, there is something about this G6 screaming "buy me," and I haven't even seen it yet!

Must be clever subliminal advertising on Oprah show and this site.

ABSOLUTELY!

Much like the OnStar Hot Button contest...

Instead of dropping hundred of millions on countless TV, radio and print ads, spend a a fraction of that money on well publicized car giveaways.

You get people in your product, and spread good will about your brand!

Yep, I remember.

I had plenty of beef at reduced prices.
