The massive blindspot did give me an idea. How about a special-edition 2005 Mustang Landau? They could cover that massive blindspot with a vinyl roof. Who knows, they could even work in an opera window or a nifty lighted medallion.
Don't laugh yet. Everyone though that vinyl roofs, wire wheel covers and fake woodgrain body cladding died in 1996 with the Buick Roadmaster. Last year, the PT Cruiser brought back the fake woodgain after a 6-year hiatus. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Funny thing is, the only reason they did that factory is because everyone was doing it aftermarket.

Besides, Chryler has a checkered past when it come to woodgrain. Does anyone remember the "Town & Country" Le Barron converible from the '80s? If the Pacifica and Crossfire define Chrysler's new image, then woodgrain is something that is best forgotten.
...But back to the Mustang. Is there anything desirable or "sporty" about a huge blindspot?

Word is that the production units will have quarter-glass in the rears, not vent slats. That was for concept car "impact".
Don't bank on a huge blind spot... unless you wanna bet with me!

I would be nice to think that the "quarter-glass' would be of the roll down variety, making the Mustang a true pillarless hardtop. From what I've seen in other pics, though, it will probably be a true quarter window framed in sheet metal. Kinda like a little triangular "opera window."

Good point redzed. The early cars ('64.5 thru '68 coupes DID have roll-down rear 1/4's! But not the fastbacks... they actually did get vents.)
I'll have to put that one on my next "feedback form"!

Mustang Town Landau
One of the new $$$ mercedes coupes is a true 'hardtop' in that both front and rear side windows roll down w/ no B-pillar. I think it's a schweet idea.
For the mustang, I think i'd rather have the quarter glass. I think it looks better and not many cars have that type of look these days (probably because it costs more).
