The first thing I pictured when I read about that yesterday was Kyle's head literally exploding...or spinning.

Logic algorithm overload

PS - the problem was with the buckle not buckling properly, so shouldn't really be a major safety issue unless the passenger tries to buckle and it won't so they decide to just go beltless instead of moving to the back.

Re: OMG Lexus Recall!!

seatbelt having difficult latching seems less dangerous than your ford bursting into flames and burning your house down while you sleep.

Come on Threxx, you have to admit that seatbelts are a safety issue.

If only GM cared about overpopulation and suburban sprawl as much as Ford does, and you guys thought it was some silly defective switch in the master cylinder...

Seatbelts are a safety device but the problem is that they aren't buckling up. If your seat belt doesn't buckle and you choose to go without one then you are making a conscious decision anyway.

I can't see a jury buying that argument, especially since seat-belts have been around for 60+ years and cars costing 1/4 the price don't have issues with them. Remember this is America where it is much easier to assign blame that accept any form of responsibility.

Anyone know how long it took Lexus to jump on this? I'm going to guess not very long at all.

It's only the front passenger assembly that's malfunctioning. So I guess if you have 5 people that have to get somewhere then you've got a valid case. Otherwise, get in the back or take the risk.
