Official Specs and Options released for the 2011 Caprice 9C1,9C3
355 was the rating for the G8 in its last year, so it looks like the engine is simply a carryover. Not sure what caused the drop from 361 hp; some speculated it was the pup cats that were added in 2008.5, some think it was premium vs. regular fuel used in the rating.
The limiting factor, I'm sure, will be its country of manufacture. Both from a capacity standpoint, but also from customers being hesitant to have their supply chains stretch halfway around the world. But out of a 60-80k per year market, it should be able to grab half.

That they are and not many of them really like them a ton from what I hear.
I know our local guys complain about comfort and storage with them.
None of them are made with the equipment on an officer really in mind but most of the guys I know still like the old Caprice and the current Crown Vic over the Charger function wise, but they do like the looks.

I asked a couple of them to go out to a back road and run them against my Camaro just for ****s and giggles and both replied they'd blow up.
I was hoping for a little more, just to have the Caprice have bragging rights over the Charger. That is 105 hp more than the Crown Vic though. It will be interesting to see how the longer wheelbase Caprice handles vs. the Charger. The G8 smoked the Charger in the handling dept.

I can tell you that East Palo Alto Ca are happy with theirs, The Pennsylvania State Police picked the Charger as the best and will be ordering them if they haven't already started, the California Highway Patrol is looking to purchase them once we start buying highway cars again (like the B4C Camaros, we bought a bunch of CVs ahead of them being discontinued), and most of the LE agencies whose members I've talked to either are happy with their Chargers or would almost be willing to total their Vicks to get one.
Never heard an issue about the trunk space though. It's not like cops have to pack up a trunk with luggage for vacation. Save safety and communications equptment and the occasional shotguns, 16.2 cu/ft of trunk is more than they typically use.
Our local police force has several chargers and despite the officers liking the looks (i'm friends w/ a couple) they say they are always breaking down.

Quite a bit.
Did they say what the problems were that led them to breaking down?
Did they mention what went wrong?
Reason I ask is that everyone I know in LE (I was in it my self for a time) typically say things like "the Camaro's transmissions are junk", or "the Crown Vics kept overheating" or, "the Mustangs keep warping brake rotors".
Officers tend to be specific out of habit.
Never herd a generalized "Keeps breaking down" from anyone.
The only issue that's come up that I'm aware of with the Chargers is their rear subframe mounting bushings get a bit loose as they age.
Again...No break down issues.... even on internet and police site searches.
Just curious.

You say that as a diss against the Charger, however, your car is modified.

Front suspension issues and tire alignment, some transmission issues, and the rear sub-frame mounting bushings as you mentioned above.
Thats not bad considering how new the Charger is to the police world. It took Ford the better part of the 90s to get the Crown Vic issues resolved. And GM has yet to do anything about the terrible transmission in the Impala.
I don't have first hand knowledge of the problems since my agency doesn't use Chargers. The officers I've talked to that have been issued Chargers do have a general dislike for them other than the outstanding acceleration. One officer described them as "clunky". I know if I was offered one I would take it.
