The reason why I'm not as upset with a FWD Impala (and this is GM's thinking as well) is that Impala was RWD for all those years not because it was a necessary configuration...all cars back in the day were RWD. Impala is a family sedan, just like it always has been. RWD or FWD, it does the job it was always supposed to do. With the exception of 3 years, Impala hasn't had much, if any, emphasis on performance.

Thumbs down

The GSX thing was done a couple of years ago by a local dealer here in Tampa. Century Buick of Tampa I guess went thru a resto catalog and added genuine-looking GSX badges to blown 2-door Regals and cashed in on the name already. They had fancy aftermarket wheels and a spoiler. I don't know if they did anything performance-wise. That and the upcoming SLP version is a true degradation of the name. Now as for the GTO, V8/RWD/6-speed/awesome interior/IRS, that's far from being blasphemous IMO.
