So this is just a slight refresh approximately 2 years prior to a ground-up redesign. To be honest it hardly looks any different to me except for the rear end has a bit more of a defined character than before.

Thanks for the clarification on the years. I wasn't convinced when I typed those numbers. My mom had a '98 or '99 (the better looking previous gen), and I couldn't remember for sure when the current style came out... (I used to keep up with this, every generation of every model by every manufacturer, but not so much anymore).

That makes more sense then; this is just a freshening. The rear looks different (and better), and I imagine the interior will get a tweak or two...
