Cadillac V-Series
According to The Car Connection, Cadillac's performance line will be known as the "V-Series" (sorry, Mr. Allen; I would've been just as happy with TAD for what it's worth). I have reason to believe, therefore, that the final name for the CTSi will be the VTS. I further speculate that the V16 sedan concept, or perhaps a high-powered Escalade might called the VLX (further cementing in the V-series concept).

CTS= C class car, T for Touring S for Sedan
EXT= E class car, X for off road, T for Truck
etc etc
by that logic, I'd assume the CTS variant to be the "CVS"... of course, that gives the impression of a pharmacy on wheels, so perhaps I am wrong...

XLR: X class car, L for Luxury, R for Roadster...
So perhaps there will be a XVR down the road?!

I think maybe you guys are reading too much into Caddy's names.
I was under the assumption that CTS stood for Catera Touring Sedan and the upcoming STS stood for Seville Touring Sedan. They'll probably drop the DeVille name in a few years and just retain the DTS moniker, which would stand for Deville Touring Sedan. And the E in EXT stands for Escalade.
I think their naming convention is pretty simple and straight forward.
Except that the SRX and the XLR do not fit the above mold. Probably because they are new vehicles.

Their "official" position on this (what they have been telling journalists) is that "C" no longer stands for Catera and "S" no longer stands for "Seville", and "D" no longer stands for "Deville" -- S Class, D Class and C Class.

Caddy played with the idea of spelling words wierd... (ie. Evoq (Evoke); Imaq (Image) ) etc... but no one could pronounce them and then then dropped it and started the CTS, XLR, SRX, etc naming convention.... which is loosely patterned after BMW/Mercedes naming conventions...

That's right! Couldn't remeber the "R" was "reconfiguarable"
Also, according to the link below... the CTS-V could debut at Pebble Beach this Friday!
