I think, excellent chance it's going to happen.

And SRT Dakota, had better be packing more than a 5.7 Hemi.

Good to hear. Think the regular trucks and Hummer H3 have any chance of getting a DoD 5.3L? What ever happened to all that Turbo I5 and Turbo I6 work GM was doing?

One would have to be blind to not predict that there would be a Hemi-powered Dakota in the very near future...

I knew when it was unveiled with only the 3.7L V6 and the two versions of the 4.7L SOHC red-headed stepchild V8 that the hemi would follow sooner or later.

:blah:

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I too long for the Colorado SS concept (but with a six speed manual option). That was a bad, bad looking truck.

A. Didn't see anything in linked article about Hemi in Dakota.
B. Everything I have previously read said that the Hemi wouldn't fit in current Dakota.
C. Hemi is supposedly significantly cheaper to manufacture than OHC 4.7 and therefore a Hemi-powered Dakota would be cheaper to make (and more profitable) than the cammer.
Bottom line is: how can Chrysler be so stupid as to spend all that money re-designing this truck and not allow for installation of Hemi?

That's true, the cheaper for the consumer, 4.7 is more expensive to manufacture than the pushrod Hemi. The issue right now however, is that Hemi production can barely keep up with demand for Ram, Durango and LX cars.

Mmmmm.....Hemi Dakota. A little fugly but that joker would be quick. GM would be able to have a reason to build the SS Colorado to compete then....I'll take one in black please.
