Exclamation Nomad now not a certainty

The auto press loved it, but the public reaction isn't what GM hoped for.

On the plus side, the Saturn Curve is a go for production 6 months after Solstice begins production. The Lightning is in doubt though. Blame the European Union's pedustrian safety standards that require plenty of space between sheetmetal & undethood components.

That very European Union's pedustrian safety could destroy car design as we know it, but it does not affect cars that have a mid-engine layout so most all Ferrari's, LAmbos and Porches will be fine. Maybe this might be one of the reasons why GM might bring out a Mid-engine Chevy and a mid-engine Caddy to be slotted above the Vette and XLR.

Which public would that have been?!?

Next the Solstice, which for us would have to be instead of, rather than in addition to the Camaro(s), the Nomad represents the only GM that looks desireable & affordable to us.

I guess they need to come up with something to utilize the balance of the platform capacity so there is still hope.

I'd far sooner see the Nomad than the Curve.

Quick solution to this problem: Scrap HHR, produce kappa-based Nomad. Nomad and Solstice are both going to be within my sights once I get out of college.

I'd much prefer the Nomad to the Curve too.

I went to the Chicago Auto Show 3 times.....and I can't say that I saw anyone looking at the Nomad, other than me.

GM not producing the Nomad is fine with me... I think they can do better.

damn--I like the Nomad even more then the Solstice.

Its the hardtop body style and the rwd that do it for me.
The Solstice, while nice, isn't practical here, (people who drive convertibles in the winter are nuts!) you'd really neeed two cars.

I dont know why they keep bringing these cars back. They should just rename them. The old body style is what made them what they are not the new.
