What % of Pontiac Vibe sales are AWD?
HHR is an "urban, on-road utility vehicle," says Chevy marketing boss Jim Campbell. "I don't see us offering all-wheel drive (on HHR). Front-wheel drive handles about 85% of traction needs."

Re: No AWD for the HHR says Campbell
Well, in New England here, it seems every other Vibe I see is AWD. I know where I work, the Vibe is far and away our best seller (which sucks because profit margins are naturally tight), and we sell 60%+ as AWD.
Re: No AWD for the HHR says Campbell
AWD HHR for $1,900* more than the FWD would sell great here in the North East. A Cheap AWD vehicle is just what Chevy needs.
*I used $1900 because that is what the AWD option costs on an STS now.

Re: No AWD for the HHR says Campbell
Delta isnt engineered for AWD. The whole rear suspension is a solid axle. It would take a whole new chassis.
Perhaps if HHR was off Epsilon, yes, but not Delta.

It seems tragic to be that GM couldn't have replaced the Toyota-sourced Vibe with a Delta based crossover - a sort of non-retro stablemate for Chevy's HHR.

True but that doesn't make it right. 123hp and an autoamtic just blows (Vibe/Matrix) Can you imgaine the pathetic passing power? The words overworked and struggling come to mind here.
