Not to rain on your parade, but you might be best served by an aftermarket hood that lets in some cooling air to the compartment, rather than a functional ram air system.
We took a look at the pressure trace on the next-gen Holden Commodore front end, which has a similar profile to the GTO, as we were considering doing a functional system for the Zeta GTO. The only high-pressure areas were the lower half of the front fascia and the windshield base (about 4-5" above the hood). All other areas were low or negative pressure (yes, this means that the Woodward Cruise GTO system would not be truly functional - sorry, Kip!).

dont know how credible this guy is, but he lives in michigan and got very detailed.

As far as I can see, the new Holden Commodore's front end does infact look alot like and shaped much like the current VZ Commodore.

You've seen it?

That is odd that hte negative pressure ends that far and high back.
But how tall is the skin I wonder? Ya know? Would a 3" opening near the front get over the skin effect?
Just thankin' out laoud.

i'll confirm it. the frontal area is very, very similar to the current VZ Commodore.
and in terms of the aero, have you noticed how most "grilles" aren't even functional anymore? most cooling air is ingested from below the bumper height these days.

Yup, that's the same guy. And I agree, he'd make an interesting addition around here. He not only worked on the GXP but also the Zeta GTO.

Remember, GM people read these threads, so we might want to be careful in naming sources, regardless as to how obvious they may be.

Just to give you guys a heads up:
We are in the height of the summer testing season in Cal-Nev-Ariz area.
Seems everyone and their brother are bagging a particular sedan, both in LHD & RHD. You'll probally see it in your choice of car rag soon.
Don't let the cammos or strange paint schemes fool you. It's actually a pretty nice looking car.
