Sorry but I don't like it at all.

Having said that, I didn't like the Mondeo and Fiesta either when I first saw the pics... but the looks have grown on me and I quite like their styling.

Maybe I need to see the Focus in the flesh first before passing judgement.

I think it looks good. Much more modern than the current one.

I like the red hatch, now Ford just needs to give it some oats and go GTI hunting.

I'd like to hear and feel how all of these new compact cars ride on the roads. Road noise and ride are my top annoyance with compact cars.

Thumbs up

Wow, I'm liking every new Ford in the looks department more and more. Each one better than the one before.

If the materials are on par with what Euro-standards are, then the car is a hands down winner.

The Cruze I checked out at LA had an excellent interior, but as a whole it was as familiar as a Cobalt. The new Focus breaks new styling ground inside & out.

I'll save final judgement till when I get to check them both out in final production form, but I'd give Ford the edge coming out the box.

Plus, Ford seems to be able to come out with 2 versions of a car at the same time. GM, for all the money and freedom it's supposed to have, is in some ways acting like the old GM. Walking away from a successful Cobalt coupe, putting out a single model of the Cruze (single sedan design only) isn't the way to keep ahead of the competition... let alone if the competition is offering variety of the same model.

I don't like the sedan, something about it doesn't look right, I don't like the back end at all.

The hatch however, looks a lot better.

I could see this giving everyone an honest run for their money. Good job Ford.

Interesting b/c I like the sedan but not the 5 door.

I can't wait to see the 3 door hatch. That car will be HOT, and could setup the SVT line pretty nicely.

Ford makes a better looking Pontiac than GM does...er, did...er, whatever...

Well done. At first glance, I'd much prefer this to a Cruze. Its simply too bland...here's to hoping an aggressive Cruze coupe shows up. My wife and I are both probably the target market for the Cruze (under 30 college grads zero kids), and it does nothing for either of us.

This one is sweet, though. I have a bias against 4 doors...but if this thing drove sweet, I'd buy one if I needed a car.

This is the first ever Ford Escort/Focus/whatever-class car that I hav e actually found not incredible visually lame.

It looks like a 'real car' instead of some strange cheapo goofy car.

I think this is really nice looking, especially when you consider the market class.

and, really, it's rare that I find any Ford to be visually attractive, to be honest.

EDIT: FWIW, the sedan looks a lot better than the hatch... the hatch get sinto the 'goofy' range with me a bit, but still better than past efforts.
